Official benchmarks cover the contiguous 48 states. Alaska appears separately because our catalog contains source observations there; no USDA benchmark is invented for it.
Figures are nominal dollars per acre, not adjusted for inflation. USDA agricultural averages describe a different population from the parcels in our listing catalog.
Farm real estate includes agricultural land and buildings. Cropland and pasture are separate agricultural categories. Values are annual survey estimates, not an appraisal of a specific property, a vacant-lot median, or a closed-sale price index. Missing or withheld values remain missing. Each exported record preserves its report, table and page reference.
2010–2013 use the 2014 final-estimates bulletin; 2014–2018 use the 2019 final-estimates bulletin; 2019 uses the current Quick Stats final estimates. 2020, 2021, and 2022–2026 use the 2024, 2025, and 2026 annual reports respectively. All extracted numeric report values were cross-checked against the 2026-10-01 Quick Stats economics download. Newer selected report suppression takes precedence over an earlier numeric publication.
